October 2010 Trip Updates

Hola from Guatemala. Our trip is going smoothly. Did I happen to mention the fact we had a small earthquake last night. Now if you are from the south no earthquake is small. Billy came running out of his room in a panic screaming like a small child . Anyway the village is doing well despite nearly two weeks of constant rain which made a total mess out of the road. This has delayed construction of the sixth house but the footing and corner braces have been finished and hope to lay block tomorrow. The children were very happy to see the group and have enjoyed the crafts and games that were brought. Today was our so called off day many of the women went to the orphanage, while some of the men went to play golf. This is when Billy , David, Jason, Will and the Great Booba  went to Pastor Jorge’s village to deliver 9 water filters and spread the love of Jesus. After our visit the 5 of us went to the Volcano Pacaya for a five mile horse ride and twenty mile hike (well maybe 2 mile horse ride and mile hike, which took Billy over and hour to complete). Anyone who does not believe there is a God needs to climb an active volcano and see his power. All in all friendships are still being built and strengthened. Firefly’s light is growing brighter in Guatemala thanks to all of you and most of all thanks to Jesus. Continue to pray for our safety and that we be used mightily by God.
